This is the second webinar in our Medication safety educational series.
Facilitated by former SCV staff consumer lead Belinda MacLeod-Smith, this session will cover:
- why the patient voice is critical during patient care and explain ways to involve patients in their care
- the importance of continuous quality improvement processes including the reporting of errors and near misses as it pertains to a safety culture
- why collaboration and communication are key factors in reducing preventable harm from medications.
Presenter
Melissa Sheldrick, Patient and Family Advisor from the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada will present on the importance of medication safety throughout the dispensing process, from the point of view of a patient.
