Date & Time

This is the sixth webinar in our Medication safety educational series.

This session will cover:

  • understanding the unique characteristics and safety challenges of medication use in paediatrics
  • identifying three paediatric-related medication use concerns when transitioning from inpatient care to the community
  • describing strategies for triaging and analysing paediatric prescriptions to ensure safe and appropriate dispensing.

Presenter: ISMP Canada

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada will present on paediatric patients who, due to various patient and system-level factors, are at a greater risk of experiencing adverse events not only in but outside of hospitals as well. Understanding where and how medication incidents can occur is key to improving medication safety in this vulnerable population. This presentation will discuss important safety considerations for when paediatric patients transition back home and to the care of their community pharmacy.
