Effective communication underpins the patient journey and is a fundamental component in clinical governance. It is also a principle in the Australian Charter of Health Care Rights in Victoria. When care goes wrong, it undermines the ability for consumers to partner in their own healthcare.
We've engaged Deakin University’s Centre for Organisational Change in Person-Centred Healthcare to offer you access to experiential learning to advance your communication skills.
This workshop will help you:
consider how feedback shapes learning
practice methods to deal with clinical learning situations
build confidence in discussing communication skills with colleagues you supervise
learn how to prepare the learning environment before, during and after clinician-patient scenarios
develop tailored approaches for different types of learners
identify evidence-based micro skills in clinical consultation.
