Introduction of the National Clinical Governance Model
We welcome the release of the National Clinical Governance Model (national model) and accompanying Implementation Guide by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and acknowledge the strong alignment with the Victorian Clinical Governance Framework (VCGF) and supporting resources.
The national model does not introduce any new expectations or additional requirements for Victorian health services and can be used alongside existing jurisdictional resources to support continuous improvement in clinical governance.
The expectation for Victorian health services to implement clinical governance arrangements aligned to the VCGF, as per the Department of Health’s Policy and Funding Guidelines, health services’ Statement of Priorities and Local Health Service Network’s Statement of Expectations remains unchanged.
For further information on the VCGF and supporting tools and resources, see Clinical governance | Safer Care Victoria.
