We are proud to support health services in embedding the Zero Suicide Framework (ZSF) into practice, in direct response to the Royal Commission’s recommendations.
On 24 June, we hosted the inaugural Victorian Zero Suicide Framework Forum. Minister Ingrid Stitt opened the event for the 160 passionate delegates who came together with an interest in driving reform in suicide prevention and response across our mental health system. Featuring powerful presentations on emergency department responses, postvention strategies, and lived experience leadership, the forum’s impact on attendees was clear, with 93.5% finding sessions engaging and relevant and 82.3% expressing increased interest in implementing the ZSF.
On 25 June, services partnered with SCV in this initiative came together to focus on sharing learnings and refining plans to better align their organisation’s practice to the framework’s principles. Participants of day two provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting benefits of networking, inspiration, and increased motivation for continuing to progress their reform efforts.
Thank you to all who contributed to this inspiring event – we’re excited for what’s ahead.
