On 30 June, more than 50 health services from across Victoria came together at Collins Square for the Adult Sepsis Collaborative 2025–26 Summative Event, marking the culmination of a 12‑month journey to improve sepsis care across the state.
The event showcased the achievements of participating teams through interactive storyboards, shared learning and meaningful discussions. This highlighted the collective impact of collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to improving patient outcomes. Attendees also gained practical tools and strategies to support the sustainability and spread of successful improvement initiatives within their organisations.

A standout moment of the day was the consumer panel, facilitated by Shefton Parker. More than 100 attendees had the privilege of hearing powerful sepsis survivorship stories from Dr Jacob Dye, Caitlyn Alsop, Sue Gilbert and Debbie McCarthy. Their personal reflections reinforced the profound human impact of sepsis and the importance of prompt recognition and treatment. We extend our sincere thanks to the panel members for their openness, courage and generosity in sharing their experiences, inspiring all of us to continue striving for better sepsis care.
