Safer Together Program

Over the past year, Safer Care Victoria has taken an important step forward in how we support health services to improve safety and quality of care. In 2024, we launched the Safer Together Program – a unified approach that brings together our improvement activities under a single program.

This evolution marks a significant milestone: the 100,000 Lives program and other improvement activities have now been incorporated into the Safer Together Program.

While active projects originally part of the 100,000 Lives program continue, they have now been integrated into a unified program aligned to a refreshed set of four strategic priorities:

What this means for health services

You’ll still see the same commitment to high-impact, evidence-based improvement, but now with a simplified and more integrated approach. By bringing together our various support offerings into a single program, we’re making it easier for health services to engage with us – through streamlined capability-building, clearer networking opportunities, and aligned projects that support systemic change.  This will strengthen our collective impact and create the foundations for a connected learning health system.

Our active projects

Active 100,000 Lives projects are now part of the Safer Together Program. This enables better alignment across the system and ensures all efforts contribute to a shared vision of a safer, more connected healthcare system.  For more information, see our active improvement projects.

Changes to our website

To reflect this evolution, there is no longer a section on our website for the 100,000 Lives initiative. This information has moved to the Safer Together Program section, where you can understand:

  • what’s on offer
  • how you can get involved
  • how to access the tools, resources, and insights.
