We’re proud to share that the Foundations of Medical Technology innovation capability platform has been awarded a 2025 Good Design Award in the Social Impact category.

This platform was co-designed by:

  • Safer Care Victoria
  • Monash Art Design and Architecture (MADA)
  • Monash Institute of Medical Engineering (MIME)
  • consumers and frontline healthcare workers.

More than 65 clinicians, consumers, researchers and industry experts helped shape the platform’s content and structure. This ensured it reflects real-world clinical needs and equips clinicians with practical innovation skills to tackle persistent healthcare challenges.

Built around the globally recognised Stanford Biodesign framework, the program is designed for use within both clinical and educational settings. It has seen more than 300 healthcare professionals complete the free, self-paced online course.

The Good Design jury praised the initiative for 'making innovation processes accessible' and 'empowering frontline staff to define and solve complex problems'.
