We are seeking input from Victorian public health service stakeholders to support the development of the Victorian Medicines Formulary.
The Formulary will establish a single, statewide list of medicines approved for use in Victorian public health services along with a statewide medicines governance structure. The aim is to support more consistent access to medicines, so people can receive care closer to home where possible, regardless of which public health service they attend.
Why attend?
These consultation workshops will give health service representatives an opportunity to contribute to the development of the Formulary and help shape a statewide approach to medicines use that is clinically useful, practical and responsive to the needs of health services.
By attending, you will have the opportunity to:
- Have a say in how the Formulary is designed and applied
Contribute to conversations about how local Medicines and Therapeutics Committees and statewide governance can work together, and ensure local decision-making processes are understood and factored in. - Influence how the Formulary’s digital solution could support day-to-day clinical practice
Share what clinicians need from a digital formulary to support prescribing, workflow and decision-making in real-world settings, helping to shape future design and development. - Bring your service’s experience into the design of improved Individual Patient Use processes across the state
Highlight current challenges and help identify practical opportunities for more consistent, efficient and safe approaches. - Learn from peers and other jurisdictions
Gain insights into how other states have approached statewide formularies and what considerations are critical for successful implementation. - Help shape how the Formulary is implemented and supported
Highlight what will be needed for implementation to work in practice, including governance, supports and change considerations needed to enable safe and effective adoption across health services.
Who the workshops are for
The workshops are targeted at multi-disciplinary clinicians, executives, and health administrators from Victorian public health services who are involved in, or impacted by, medicines governance, formulary management, or prescribing medicines.
