Clinical trials: Tomorrow’s treatment, today

Fresh from the announcement of a groundbreaking new cancer clinical trial at Bendigo Health, which has enabled a local patient to become one of the first people in the world to access a promising new treatment, a special clinical trials information session will give the community and health professionals the opportunity to learn more about clinical trials, their benefits, and how to get involved.   

Co-presented by Bendigo Health and Safer Care Victoria, the event will feature firsthand insights from trial participants, clinicians, Bendigo Health’s Chief Executive Officer, Eileen Hannagan, and staff from Safer Care Victoria’s clinical trials, research and consumer engagement teams, about the vital role clinical trials play in improving lives and advancing healthcare.  

Clinical trials are not only available for cancer at Bendigo Health; they are also offered across a range of health conditions. Attendees can ask questions and learn more about the clinical trial opportunities currently available locally. 

Every medicine, treatment and healthcare intervention available today has been made possible through clinical trials and medical research.   

Clinical trials provide the evidence needed to improve patient outcomes, develop new treatments, and strengthen our healthcare system. Without them, progress in healthcare would not be possible.
