The Enhancing Stroke Care Collaborative, delivered through the Safer Together Program

It has been 12 months since we launched the Sustainable and Quality use of Diagnostics in Emergency Departments (SQuDs-ED) project across 11 health services and 19 emergency departments in metropolitan and regional Victoria. 

The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Women’s Health has published results from the National Preterm Birth Prevention Program. This study shows that the initiative has led to a significant decrease in early birth and improved pregnancy outcomes for women across Australia.

More than 100 participants from 25 Victorian health services recently came together with a shared goal of reducing venous thromboembolism (VTE) in perioperative patients and minimising inappropriate anticoagulant prescribing in medical patients.

The Sustainable and Quality use of Diagnostics in Emergency Departments (SQuDs-ED) project launched in April 2025 with a two-day Sustainability in Quality Improvement (SusQI) workshop at the University of Melbourne.

The Safer Care for Kids: ViCTOR pilot project ran from November 2024 to July 2025 in response to a rise in notifications of serious healthcare incidents involving children in Victorian health services.
