Developing a Maternal Sepsis Pathway

Maternal sepsis is a serious and potentially life‑threatening condition that can occur during pregnancy, birth, or up to six weeks after birth. Recognising the signs early and receiving prompt care is essential to save lives.

We are consulting with consumers and key stakeholders to develop a Maternal Sepsis Pathway. This pathway will support healthcare staff across Victoria to recognise and respond to maternal sepsis quickly and consistently.

Co-designing a My Maternity Journey resource

We are also developing a clear, easy‑to‑use resource to support informed decisions during pregnancy, birth and during the postpartum period after birth. Learn more about how we're co-designing of the My Maternity Journey resource.

Together, this work supports safer care for women throughout Victoria.

We will provide more updates as this work progresses - Stay tuned!
