Overview
The Clinical Governance Leadership Health Check (CGLHC) helps health service boards and executives to:
- undertake a self-assessment of their clinical governance leadership
- identify insights and focal areas to improve their clinical governance leadership.
We will also use the de-identified results to:
- understand local clinical governance excellence and systemic barriers
- build clinical governance capability, maturity, and sustainability
- inform state-wide learning and development.
What's involved
The CGLHC is a self-rated online questionnaire for health service board and executive members.
It involves 44 self-rated items aligned to the clinical governance domains in the Victorian Clinical Governance Framework.
Benefits
Completing the CGLHC provides an opportunity to:
- prompt discussions about the board and executive strengths, culture and mindset and examine the consequential impacts on the quality and safety of care
- guide potential opportunities for board and executive skill development.
- stimulate ideas for strengthening new and existing clinical governance practice.
How to complete the CGLHC
To complete the CGLHC, you must:
- Review the information pack
- Complete the access form
- Receive a survey link (if you are eligible)
- Distribute the survey link to all board and executive members
- Complete the CGLHC survey.
We will provide a report with your results when over 80% of board and executive members complete the survey. We will send this to the email provided in the initial access form.

Privacy, confidentiality, and disclosure of information
View more View lessResponses to the CGLHC are anonymous. Data collected through completion of the CGLHC will not be associated with any identifying information. All information gathered from participants will be kept securely. Electronic data will be protected and stored on a secure platform within SCV. Only relevant personnel at SCV directly linked with the CGLHC project team will have access to the raw data.
In any subsequent data presentation to health services, information will be provided in such a way that health services cannot be identified. Only grouped data will be shared. As a result, an individual’s data will not be presented, nor will any identifiable information be disclosed in the reporting of results.
