Translational Research PhD Fellowship Pilot Program

Building Victoria's research translation capability

The Translational Research PhD Fellowship Pilot Program supports doctoral researchers to undertake projects that address priority challenges facing Victoria's health system.

Established by the Department of Health and now managed by Safer Care Victoria, the program connects fellows with health system leaders, government policy teams and academic partners to ensure their research addresses real-world healthcare priorities and needs.

Translational research priorities and principles

We are currently reviewing the translational research priorities to ensure they continue to reflect emerging evidence, evolving health system needs and opportunities for improvement.

Until updated priorities are approved and published, the Translational Research Priorities 2022–2024 remain the current framework guiding our translational research activities and investment.
