During 2025 the Chief Allied Health Officer (CAHO) Engagement Plan delivered a year of strong connection and collaboration across the sector. Our team completed 13 metropolitan health service visits, each one invigorating, informative, and deeply valuable. These visits and conversations strengthened relationships, surfaced local priorities and enriched our statewide understanding of allied health challenges and opportunities.
Respectful maternity care is a fundamental human right for all women. The World Health Organization defines respectful maternity care as care that maintains the dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of pregnant and birthing women, ensures freedom from harm and mistreatment, enables informed choice, and provides continuous support during labour and birth.
