Improving equitable access across Victoria
Teletrials are now being delivered across an expanding range of Victorian health services. This growing reach improves equity of access by enabling more people - including First Nations peoples and communities - to take part in clinical trials closer to where they live.
These partnerships strengthen safety, quality and oversight while widening opportunities for people in regional, rural and remote communities to access clinical trials and innovative treatments.
Benefits for health services
Health services are choosing teletrials to expand local capability, strengthen collaboration with established clinical trial centres, and improve access for people in regional, rural and remote locations.
Health services participating in teletrials are seeing several advantages, including:
- improved access to clinical trials for people living in regional, rural and remote communities
- increased participation from underserved and underrepresented populations, including First Nations peoples
- strengthened recruitment and better retention in clinical trials
- stronger collaboration between clinical trial sites across Victoria
- increased capability and capacity for clinicians and research teams
- more equitable access to clinical trials for more patients across the state.
