About the Ethical Review Manager
Ethical Review Manager (ERM) is an online form-based system for creating, submitting and managing research applications in Victoria.
The Applicant user guide to ERM provides Victorian specific guidance on how to use ERM and manage form-based applications.
It supports the full lifecycle of research projects – from application and review to approval/authorisation, reporting and closure – and enables centralised submission across Victorian public health services using ERM.
ERM provides:
- a single system for submitting ethics and governance applications
- consistent processes across organisations
- transparent tracking of application progress
- streamlined communication between applicants, research offices and ethics committees.
Access ERM
Access is via a secure online system and is used by:
- research applicants (researchers, trial coordinators, sponsors, contract research organisations and others) to submit applications for ethics, research governance, ethics post-approval forms and research governance post-authorisation forms
- reviewers (research office administrators and ethics committee members) to manage the review, processing and approval/authorisation of all applications
